The Gift of Giving

Hello everyone! Are you a giver? Do you enjoy helping others? When you see or know someone is in need do you feel compelled to help? I’ve felt this way for as long as I can remember. Feeling the need to help others and finding it joyous in every way to do so.

My Mother is a giver. We were very poor and lived in some very rough situations while I was a child. My Mother always found a way to help and give to others when she had very little herself. She would help when those around her were in a better position to do so but would not. I thank God for the gift of giving! Being a giver isn’t commonplace. I’ve been on this earth over half a century and it is definitely not commonplace but it’s beautiful to help others, to care about others!

All the years in my life that I’ve been a member of someone’s religious organization, being a giver was never taught or exemplified. What was exemplified is education, purchasing a home, nice cars and comfort in life. Once again worldly spiritual leaders teaching the people to focus on the Tear Drop instead of the Ocean! Surely the gift of giving comes from God!

God has given my sister and I the gift of giving. That’s why we have KARES In Action, Inc. and love doing Random Acts of Kindness! To give someone a small token just because and letting them know God Loves YOU!

“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17 KJV

“But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.” I John 3:17-18 KJV

“Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.” 2Corinthians 9:7 KJV
