Hello everyone! Our Homeless in the Street Outreach Ministry is still a work in progress. Our goal is to hand out bags with 8 essential items for daily living inside. We named the bags “Prayers for a New Beginning” because the history and representation of the number 8 is clearly defined in God’s Word.
“The number 8 in the Bible represents a new beginning, meaning a new order or creation, and man’s true ‘born again’ event when he is resurrected from the dead into eternal life.”
“Jesus showed himself alive eight times after his resurrection from the dead. His first appearance alive was to Mary Magdalene (Mark 16:9 – 11). He then showed himself to two disciples traveling to Emmaus (Luke 24). Next, he appeared to all the disciples except Thomas (John 20:19 – 24) then a week later to all them when Thomas was present (John 20:26 – 29).”
“God saved eight people on the ark in order to have a new beginning for mankind after the flood. Since the meaning of four is derived from God’s creation of everything, 8 (4 + 4) pictures the new creation after the flood.” Resource
God has graciously given all Saints a new beginning and the hope of eternal life! Glory to God! We pray for a new beginning in Christ Jesus; We believe God for every homeless soul on the streets. We will continue to keep you informed as our plans and goals come into fruition. We truly believe God!
