A Soul Longing

How do I open up?

How do I let you in?

What must I do to get close to you?

I feel you near yet so far away

And I don’t know how to bridge the gap

What must I do to get close to you?

What more must I say?

How much more must I give?

Tell me what to do and say

I would give everything I own

To know how to let you in

What more must I do?

What more must I give?

To get close to you.

I am at a loss for words

My sorrow is deep

For I know I must give more

And open up my heart

I constantly feel tied in knots

I don’t know what more to do

For I know its not enough

What I’ve done before.

How much must I give?

How much more, oh Lord?

For I haven’t given enough to you

I haven’t said enough to you

I haven’t done enough for you

To unbreak my heart

Please tell me how much to give

Tell me what to do

Tell me all to say

To undo the damage I have caused

How do I say I’m sorry?

How do I ask for forgiveness?

How do I undo the damage I’ve caused?

How do I unbreak your heart?

For I know what I’ve done is not enough

But, thank God, this is a start.

“For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.” Psalms 107:9 KJV
