The Cult: Fear

Hello everyone! The Cult: Fear. I was afraid for so many years. Too many years. I didn’t start out that way. It didn’t take long for fear to set in. Afraid of messing up and getting sat down. Terrified of having an disagreement with a fellow brother and sister in Christ Jesus. Why? The first one to get to the leader was usually believed. No hearing both sides but action was usually taken from one side of the story. Sad but true! This behavior isn’t based on scriptural instructions nor is it wise. Having fear of leadership opens the door for control. Control is what governs this particular congregation. The Cult: Fear!

25 The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe. 26 Many seek the ruler’s favor, But justice for man comes from the LORD.” Proverbs 29:25-26 NKJV

The Cult: Fear Me and Obey Me!

There were times when a minister would get up and preach. This minister would tell the congregation how they feared the leader. What I didn’t understand is why the leader never addressed these admitted fears of him. Why would you want your congregational members to be afraid of you? Fear defined, an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat. What man of God would want his fellow brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus to feel this way? A man who desires control. This isn’t love my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus. Fear brings about the power and ability to control. You are being manipulated into obedience and whether you believe it or not, God is Not Pleased! The Cult: Fear.

God doesn’t want you to serve him because of Fear. God wants you to serve Him because of Love! That Fear isn’t coming from God, you are afraid of man! You are serving a man and not God! “Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” Matthew 22:37-40 NKJV

If I love my neighbor, my brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus I would not want him to fear me. I would not want to control or manipulate him. This isn’t love. We are to love one another as ourselves. Learn to love yourself, you will then have the ability to love others. God Loves YOU! The Cult: Fear.

Follow Jesus

God Loves you so much. Christ came down from Heaven. Jesus was born of a women. Preached Repentance of Sins and the Kingdom of God. Was crucified, died and rose up out of the grave. This Christ Jesus now sits on the right hand of the Throne of God. Jesus Christ is the Savior of the World. He is my personal Savior because not only do I believe in him. I follow him! Then He said to them all, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” Luke 9:23 NKJV

Jesus is the Head of the Church of the Living God. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.” Colossians 1:15-18 NKJV

“Jesus answered and said, This voice came not because of me, but for your sakes. 31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out. 32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.” John 12:30-32 KJV

Saints once again, this message is to provoke you to study the word of God for yourselves. Relying on the Holy Ghost, the Spirit of Truth to lead and guide you in all things! May God be with you! Peace and Love!
