Addiction

Hello everyone! Addiction, the state of being compulsively committed to a habit or practice, to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming; to such an extent that its cessation can cause severe trauma. Addiction is common to man. Popular addictions are Food (Gluttony), Sex, Alcohol, Cigarettes, and Marijuana to name a few.

Man has labeled so many acts that are sin according to the word of God as a sickness or an addiction. If you cheat constantly on your spouse having sex with others outside of your marriage covenant, you’re not an adulterer you have an sex addiction. The truth is you don’t need therapy you need deliverance, you need to be freed from the sin in your life. Mankind has come up with their own methods of fixing the sickness or addiction. Unfortunately, the fixers or therapist are themselves in need of being freed; many therapist have more issues than the clients they’re treating.

Freedom from Addiction is in Christ Jesus

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.John 8:36 KJV

“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:” Colossians 2:8-10 KJV

“This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” Matthew 15:8-9 KJV

The world will continue to be bound by sin and addiction as long as mankind will not humble himself and turn to God. Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God died that we might be reconciled to God. The Saints of God are free. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” John 3:16-17 KJV
